Community Guidelines
LipFlip is a place to learn languages and to cheer each other on. These guidelines apply to everything other learners can see of you: your username, your profile photo, and the requests and reminders you send.
- Be kind. Reminders are encouragement. Don't use requests or pokes to harass, pressure or spam anyone.
- Keep your username and photo appropriate. No hate speech, slurs, sexual content, violence, or anything that insults or threatens a person or group.
- Don't pretend to be someone else — another learner, a public figure, or the LipFlip team.
- Keep personal information private. Don't put phone numbers, addresses or other personal details in your username.
- You must be at least 13 years old to connect with other learners.
What happens if someone breaks them
We review every report. Depending on what we find, we may reset a username or remove a photo, and we remove accounts that harass others or repeatedly break these guidelines. We aim to act on reports within 24 hours.
Report and block
In the app, open Friends, tap the ⋯ button next to a friend and choose Report or Block. Blocking ends the connection immediately; the other person can no longer send you requests or reminders. You can unblock someone later under Blocked users at the bottom of the Friends screen.
Your username
Every account starts with a username made from the part of its email address before the “@”. Other learners can see and search for your username, but never your email address. You can change your username at any time in your Profile.
